Abstract | This paper synthesizes cross-country and within-country research studies on the organizational development of support services as a means to understand the process of inclusion for students with disabilities, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds. In particular, we examine issues of accessibility and culturally sensitive collaboration in order to understand those elements in the services' organizational culture that enhance or hinder the inclusion of students with disabilities. Although local cultures continue to influence the delivery of support services, the main challenges to their practices, appear to be universal with striking similarities across countries. This literature review concludes with outlining the importance of sharing effective local practices to enhance the process of the inclusion movement internationally. (As Provided). |
